Couturing caught up with Makeup Director Rae Morris and Hair Director Kenneth Stoddart to capture the best beauty moments backstage. Read on to find out how to recreate this seasons hottest looks thanks to the official sponsors, Priceline Australia.
MAKEUP BY RAE MORRIS SUPPORTED BY L’OREAL
Winter is right around the corner and with it comes dry air and cold wind that can flush out your skin. VAMFF Makeup Director Rae Morris and her team of professionals show us how you can have skin that glows, looking fresh and dewy all year round.
To recreate the look, apply the L’Oreal Paris True Match Foundation, giving you a medium coverage and creating a polished finish to the skin. For the problematic areas on the skin, use L’Oreal Paris True Match Concealer where needed. Make sure to take your time to ensure the foundation is blended well. Next, apply L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique BB Powder to the T zone and choose a highlighter for the cheekbones. For the burgundy pop of colour on the eyes, Rae chose L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Lip Liner Couture in 461 Scarlet Rouge and applied this across the eyelids.
Thick eyebrows make a face look younger, so apply L’Oreal Paris Brow Artist Plumper to brush and full brows for a soft full shape. Finish off the look with L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Moisture Matte Lipstick in Sakura Petal.
TIP – if you have dark coloured lips, use a lighter shade of lipstick to help soften the natural colour.
HAIR BY KENNETH STODDART SUPPORTED BY SCHWARZKOPF
Kenneth Stoddart and his team of Schwarzkopf professionals created the most effortless ponytail for the Elle runway. Partnering with Priceline Australia, Kenneth used mousse products for rich texture down the ends.
“Elle is very structured and sleek, so this year we decided to create a beautiful ponytail sitting in the middle of the head with a flat front,” said Stoddart.
“We’re going to pull out the ends of the ponytail to add texture and use dry shampoo on every girl. It’s not about looking shiny, it’s about looking real on the runway. Real natural hair texture.”
To recreate the look, apply Schwarzkopf Styliste Ultime Sea Salt Beach Look Texture Spray through the hair from roots to end. Dry into the hair and brush through with a flat boar bristle brush. Using your fingers, rake the hair back off the face and slightly at the side. Using Schwarzkopf Taft Styling Gel, brush the sides back with a brush for a tighter side. Grip the hair at the nape with elastic then run Schwarzkopf Daily Oil Elixir through the ponytail for a glossy definition.
