NEW RESTAURANT AMARU OPENS IN ARMADALE
Amaru is a tasting menu only restaurant run by Clinton McIver, former Sous Chef at Vue de Monde. What makes Amaru special is that diners are presented with 12 to 13 courses of contemporary Australian cuisine that changes daily according to availability, seasonality and what’s at its best for $120 at dinner.
The format varies a little from that of a typical degustation menu, starting with ‘snacks’ such as wallaby tail dumpling, saltbush butter and mud crab toast with native plum and vinegar that are brought to the table simultaneously and then followed by a palate cleanser, mains and dessert.
Space is limited at Amaru, which has just eight tables and 33 seats, making it the perfect place to settle in for an intimate meal that will excite the palate.
$49 boutique menu is also available at lunchtime.
Amaru is open for dinner Tuesday to Sunday and for lunch on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
