Find a pocket of Latin America in Richmond, with El Atino & Co now open on Bridge Road. Eat, taste and learn Latin America at this triple-threat complex, which includes a cafe (dubbed the Food Laboratory), the EA&Co. Food Store, and a cooking school to open soon in December. With a vibrant and modern open-plan space (transformed by Buro Architects), El Atino is fresh and inviting, telling the story of Latin America without the costumes and clichés.
Head Chef and co-owner Martin Zozaya is an expert in Latin American food, having worked in Mexico, Buenos Aires, Barcelona and Madrid. His food philosophy is based on using simple, fresh ingredients, balanced with bold, truly authentic flavours. Experience brunch like never before at The Food Laboratory, with distinct Latin flavours melded with your Sunday morning favourites. Options include the 48-hour Pisco Sour Cured Salmon with Beetroot, and the Dulce de Leche Jaffle French Toast will satisfy those salted caramel cravings. For a heartier lunch, try the Seafood Causa Limena, with silky mashed potatoes filled with seafood salad, rocoto mayo and grated egg.
The EA&Co. Food Store offers a range of unique ingredients to inspire your cooking adventures at home. Discover and experiment with new flavours, and stock up your pantry with Latin staples like Chipotle Chillies, Chimichurri, Empanadas and Masa (tortilla flour). These hard-to-find imported ingredients are nestled amongst EA&Co’s own brand of products, which are all made from scratch in-house.
Owner Alfredo Pimienta is excited to share this authentic Latin American experience with Melbourne food lovers, saying, “All of us at El Atino & Co. know Latin culture, not because we were told or because we read about it but because it was infused in our upbringings. Above all we tasted, cooked and enjoyed its food.”
