Zambrero is calling out for volunteers this 16th of October! Zambrero, the maker of flavoursome, fresh Mexican food, has partnered with Stop Hunger Now and Foodbank Australia in its efforts to eradicate world hunger.
Zambrero will package more than 324,000 meals on this day across Australia, with its Melbourne volunteers aiming to pack 55,000 meals for those in need.
According to the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations, 795 million people are undernourished globally. 1 out of 10 Australians seek food relief each year and over 60,000 Australians are still being turned away from charities, due to food and resource shortage.
Plate 4 Plate is Zambrero’s major program aimed at achieving its humanitarian aims. For every burrito or bowl they sell, a meal is donated to someone in need.
Zambrero’s Melbourne University restaurant, which has donated more than 100,000 meals since it opened 2 years ago, will host the Victorian meal packaging event. On a national scale, Zambrero has now donated over 6 million meals around the world.
Now is your chance to help – Zambrero needs 220 volunteers to package their target of 55,000 meals that will be donated locally via Foodbank.
Volunteer just three hours of your day and make an enormous difference.
