For their MBFWA show this year, Ellery kept things radiantly fresh and understated in the the Beauty department with tousled ponytails and bright, youthful skin.
HAIR BY REDKEN
REDKEN Hair Director Michele McQuillan created a dishevelled low pony, playing with natural textures in the hair to complement the strong lines seen in the Ellery collection. “It’s not structured, no combs, no brushing… almost like they’ve done it themselves”, says McQuillan.
“The look is anchored by BODY FULL VOLUME AMPLIFIER to provide body, structural support and essential heat protection. Layered with FASHION WAVES 07 (for finer hair) and WIND BLOWN 05, the hair is styled with the fingers to maintain a nonchalant, natural look. FASHION WORK 12 infused with REDKEN’s caring antioxidant-rich ‘Spray-Strong Complex’, completes the look with texture and hold.”
MAKEUP BY MAC
Directed by Gordon Espinet for MAC, the dewy youthfulness of the makeup was offset by white graphic details on the the eye. “We just wanted an element of uniqueness… It’s really soft and… it’s about a translucent white so that the skin still shows through.” said Espinet, “It’s really about the models not looking overly done but adding an element of something.”
Models were given a strong brow but the skin was left fresh, with Timecheck lotion lending dewiness and light touch of Face and Body foundation added where necessary. The soft white graphic was created with Chromacake White, applied with a #209 Eye Liner Brush. Lips were also left natural with just a swipe of Lip Conditioner.
NAILS BY OPI
Nails were kept soft and feminine, using Put It Neutral from OPI’s new Soft Shades collection on a natural, oval-shaped nail. “The look is understated, nude, sophisticated and classic, which goes with the whole Ellery collection” says Melisa Giraldo.
