Aje has earned the title of one of Australia’s loved independent labels, and their MBFWA show showed why. Raw hems, wide legs and studded nude slides were plentiful, and a solid helping of old Hollywood glamour upped the wow factor.
Linen in a neutral colour palate added a natural feel amongst more luxe fabrications. Colour was kept to a minimum, with muted pinks and light greys matched with rich layered darks, both dimensional and perfect for the Melbourne set.
The silhouettes were wide ranging from layered bustiers over shirts, flares and exaggerated peplums, to bell sleeve boho dresses (with the added sex appeal in the thigh high slit).
Standout looks included the Stephen Sprouse inspired monogrammed set and midi dress, as well as the show stopping gowns that closed out the show.
