Myer staked its claim on the AW15 fashion market in spectacular style last night, with a polished runway showing featuring over 200 designs. Ambassadors Jennifer Hawkins, Kris Smith and Kate Peck all took to the catwalk to celebrate the season’s styles, parading up and down a slick, minimalist set, which featured dramatic black and white oversized blades in a nod to the current marketing campaign “The Shift”.

The show was styled by international renowned fashion director Thelma McQuillan. Key trends included a strong 70’s vibe, lush bohemian silhouettes and a modern take on the standout styles of the pre-disco era, think subdued prints, earth tones, flowing skirts and flared pants.
Hawkins opened the show in a sleek pant suit by designer Toni Maticevski, top off with a wide brimmed hat from Nerida Winter. Designs from local brands Ellery, Yeojin Bae and Arthur Galan all made an impact on the red carpet, and they more than stood their own alongside garments from international designers Christopher Kane, Preen and Tome.
Peck donned a long haired blonde wig, a big departure from her usually short crop, to take to the catwalk in Ellery, by Johnny, White Suede, Cue and Alex Perry.
For the men, key trends to watch for are blues, layered urban styles and sharp suiting. Smith took to the runway featuring designers Autonomy and M.J Bale.
The show closed with one of Myer’s newest acquisitions, Alex Perry, who was there in the front row to witness Hawkins stun the crown in a daring canary yellow gown with a plunging V-neck and thigh high split.
