Just as well known as the brands she illustrates for (think Chanel, Dior and Vanity Fair, just to name a few), Australian based, and internationally renowned fashion illustrator Megan Hess, is teaming up with property developer Mirvac for an exciting new project. Hess will lend her world class skills to style the interior of Mirvac’s most luxurious penthouse at Array.
While this is Hess’ first foray into the world of interior design, she is no stranger to the industry, having already designed a range of beautiful home products including vases and serving trays, whimsically illustrated with her much recognised designs.
“Bringing my illustrations to life in a physical space and creating a home that feels like a living work of art was always going to be the natural next step to me. It is something I have been building towards for some time, following smaller projects I have worked on around the world,” said Hess. “To be given such a beautiful blank canvas and free rein to create a high fashion home above Melbourne – a truly chic and artistic city – is a dream come true.”
Mirvac Group Executive Residential John Carfi said that the collaboration with Hess was in response to the market demanding unique properties which can’t be replicated. “Megan is one of the most coveted and in-demand illustrators in the fashion world. It is a coup to secure her and an honour that her first major interiors project is Array by Mirvac,” he said. “The Array penthouses will be two of Melbourne’s most incredible properties when complete, offering incredible views of Melbourne’s CBD, and Megan’s touch will elevate it to a new level. We can’t wait to reveal the final product.”
“The penthouses at Array are the crowning jewels of this beautiful building,” said Hess. “I want to create a space fit for a modern, urban and chic king and queen of Melbourne – a space that blends luxury and comfort.”
The completed hotel will be unveiled and will go on the market next year. You can check out Hess’ work here.
