Coach has always been synonymous with luxury, leather goods since the brand’s inception in 1941. But now, with the appointment of new creative director, Stuart Vevers, they’re adding a little downtown edge to the iconic label. Celebrating the Coach fall 2014 collection landing in stores, guests were invited to the Emporium Melbourne store to shop the pieces, indulge in speciality bespoke cocktails created by Patrón, and emerge into Stuart’s vision – a journey from New York and back.
The collection offers new takes on traditional and heritage shapes, and raises that with unexpected details and big, bold prints. Standout pieces were the red and black herringbone printed knits, sheering-lined boots, and fringed saddlebags.
The scope of the collection is huge and wide ranging. Preempting any overindulgence anxiety, the event was co-hosted by one of Australia’s leading stylists, Romy Frydman of StyleMeRomy.com, who was on hand to help guide us through the collection and offer advice for shaping a look.
The store is more gallery than store front, so its definitely recommended to immerse yourself fully in the world of Coach. You’ll find the Emporium Melbourne store on the ground level opposite Myer.
