To celebrate the launch of the Eve Lom Complexion range in Australia, exclusively at Mecca Cosmetica stores and online at Mecca, we caught up with Eve Lom Product Director Amandine Isnard to find out what we can expect from these exciting new products.
Congratulations on the launch of the new Eve Lom Complexion range! After developing a reputation as an authority in skincare, why has Eve Lom decided to take the plunge and widen the range to incorporate makeup?
We wanted to create a complexion range that perfected the skin, whilst also actively treating it. Inspired by EVE LOM skincare we created our Radiance Perfected Complexion range, a series of uniquely engineered skincare products combined with weightless colour. Utilising our skincare expertise we created active formulations that enhance and perfect the complexion both immediately as well as over time.
What learnings have you taken from the Eve Lom skincare range to create the new Complexion line?
EVE LOM has set the template for radiant skin so it was really important to us to continue this quest within our complexion range. Like our skincare, we have utilised the best that nature has to offer with scientific formulas, creating proven formulas with colour benefits to transform the skin.
Have you faced any challenges expanding the range into makeup?
The biggest challenge was to achieve CLAIMABLE skincare benefits within a colour range. In order to create the range we had to do so much laboratory testing to ensure each product would actively treat the skin and then fine tune each one to achieve our gorgeous, weightless formulas.
When people find their go-to beauty products, it can be hard to convince them to try something new! Why would you encourage beauty lovers to give the new Eve Lom Complexion range a go?
To see their skin like they never have before! There’s a certain EVE LOM glow that comes from using our products and it’s addictive once you have discovered it.
My personal favourites from the range are the Flawless Radiance Primer and the Radiance Perfected Tinted Moisturiser with SPF15. Can you share with us some of your favourites and why we should try them?
I’m so glad you are a fan! I also love both of these but another favourite would be our Light Illusion Concealer that erases all signs of tiredness with the sweep of a brush. Try it to add instant radiance to your face.
What’s your day-to-day skincare and makeup routine?
Clean skin is my motto, which I achieve with our CLEANSER, the best product to remove every last scrap of make-up and leave skin immaculate. For day I then use INTENSE HYDRATION SERUM and DAILY PROTECTION + SPF50 (it’s SO important to wear an SPF daily to protect against premature ageing). As we are getting into fall in New York I am using TLC CREAM as an evening treat over face and neck to nourish and soothe my skin. For an eye cream I use EYE LIFT both AM and PM which utilizes anti-ageing wonder ingredient retinol. For a weekly deep cleanse I use RESCUE MASK, applying a blob of INTENSE HYDRATION SERUM around my eyes for a moisture boost. I can never go out without RADIANCE PERFECTED TINTED MOISTURISER SPF 15 for flawless hydrated and radiant skin and LIGHT ILLUSION CONCEALER for a rested look, especially when coming off of a plane, which is often the case!
You said that “Eve Lom is not about colour make-up, it’s about your skin becoming more radiant than it already is.” It fits in with the current make-up trend of the no-foundation, foundation look. Can you tell us some of the hottest makeup trends we can expect to see this season, and some of the new Eve Lom Complexion products we can use to get the look?
Once again this season we saw a real nod towards natural beauty. With dewy luminous skin being the focal point at Stella McCartney, Chloe and Lanvin to name a few. To create this look start with Flawless Radiance Primer and then use Radiance Perfected Tinted Moisturiser + SPF15 where needed, following with Light Illusion Concealer to highlight the complexion. I also loved the sun kissed look at Balmain, which can be achieved instantly using Golden Radiance Bronzing Powder for a glimmering glow.
You said that a primer is the one product you could never be without. Can you share with us some top tips for flawless makeup application?
Creating a good canvas is key. Make-up always sits best on beautiful skin, so a good skincare regime and healthy lifestyle is a must. My tip for make-up would be to only use it where needed, take care to use the correct shade and choose textures that are best suited for your skin type, for example our Natural Radiance Mineral Powder Foundation is ideal for oilier skins.
