Leading beauty professionals from L’Oréal Paris and L’Oréal Professional flew into the L’Oréal Head Office on Thursday to reveal the hair and make-up looks set to appear on the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival runway this coming March.
Fresh from the runways of Paris and Milan, Elsa Morgan L’Oréal Paris Make-Up Director and one of Australia’s most respected authorities on make-up came together with the best of the best in hair – Brad Ngata and Caterina DiBiase of L’Oréal Professional – to form the official beauty team of the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival.
A melting pot of the industries top creative minds, the collective offered a first glimpse of the Festival’s innovative hair and make-up looks showcased on the faces of leading Australian models.
So what should we expect? Elsa says “The beauty looks for Autumn/Winter 2014 are strong and bold but beautifully simple… and this year it’s all about making a statement with confidence. The ultra-feminine pretty looks of last season are replaced with bolder and more graphic designs that encourage a more daring and adventurous approach to beauty. Black eyeliners, striking lip colours and contrasting textures all take centre-stage on the runway this year. I’ve taken inspiration from various iconic beauty references throughout the eras… across film, art and celebrity…and added a modern edge with some attitude.”
The Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival will take place during the month of March in 2014. The Festival’s curated program of runways, activations, workshops and business events running from 17-23 March 2014, a diverse ‘Cultural Program’ of free and ticketed activities will also run throughout the entire month of March.
The full program and designer listing will be available online from 3 February 2014 with tickets available now through Ticketek or online at the new Festival website VAMFF.com.au
