Brisbane based design Khim Hang’s Spring/Summer collection for his label Han, was a nod to his Cambodian heritage. Beautiful organics cottons were presented on the runway in classic whites. Tailoring was kept simple, with the elegant relaxed vibe of the collection really making a statement.
The clean, modern lines showcased the talent of this emerging designer, with detailing such as drawstrings and high rise sides echoing that of gym wear, giving the collection a real sports luxe feel. Vests and pockets with pants were juxtaposed with the clean feel of the garments, which brought a military style feel to the collection.
Oversized silhouettes were created with the use of neoprene which has been popular on the runway during MBFWA. Shapes were carefully manipulated so that the form of the body was flattered, even when garments were not fitted close to the body.
One of the few collections to present menswear, Han gave men a clean, hunting wear inspired look which was keep minimalist through use of white and classic shapes.
It’s refreshing to see an emerging designer with such a clear aesthetic and love for creating timeless pieces. For those looking to invest in classic pieces which will see you through more than one season, Han is the label for you.
