Opening the show, Saveus presented a collection inspired by the contrasting “flirty femininity and subtle seduction” of the swinging 60s. Peter Pan collars and peplum detailing were featured in girly prints and sweet pastels, as were the bobbly knits which are perfect for layering in Melbourne’s winter. These pieces juxtaposed the second half of Saveus’s collection, which featured clean lines in a monochrome palette with oxblood accents.
Lucette showed three huge trends for this winter: prints, leather and lace. Digital prints were abound, complemented by futuristic mirrored detailing. Silhouettes were angular and emphasised shoulders, which gave a stronger, high-impact look to pretty dresses in webbed lace. Lucette experimented with mixing textures by adding leather accents in red, blue and black to many pieces, such as a leather-sleeved oxblood coat that could carry you throughout the entire winter.
Lace, leather and prints were also featured by Rodeo Show, in the form of an modern and wearable collection that any fashion-lover would be pleased with. The ‘Provence Print’ – a muted floral print – was key to the collection, featured or spliced into many pieces. The timeless leather miniskirts were a must-have, as were the lace dresses in classic silhouettes. Metallics were also a key texture, shown in the form of a lust-worthy peplum jacket.
Cylk stayed true to their modern, relaxed aesthetic with futuristic prints and knit dresses with cut-out detailing on the sleeves. The collection featured metallic and chartreuse accents for a pop of winter colour.
Monochrome and blush colours were key in Blessed Are the Meek‘s collection, with focus on different textures, including knits and leather body-con dresses. These textures were contrasted against crisp shirts and sleek printed mini’s. A dramatic shaggy jacket closed the collection, which model Ivana Martyn-Zyznikow wore with a sassy attitude.
Keeping in line with their coastal-inspired designs, búl showed timeless pieces that could fit into any everyday wardrobe, but that had a luxe twist in tweeds and matte silks. Clean lines and cropped, boxy silhouettes were presented in a mainly neutral colour palette with dusty orange and camel accents. Models kept warm with some wearing cosy scarves styled as snoods, looped close to the neck.
