Dior & Yamamoto: The New Look
1947 was Christian Dior’s debut spring collection that shook fashion trends from then on, by introducing cinched waists and softer shapes for women that we still see today. Yohji Yamamoto did the same in the 1980s by transforming the contemporary style of clothing with anti-fashion, turning the industry on its head; in order to mark these influential designers alongside LMFF, NGV has assembled a haute-couture stockpile of clothing, prints and photographs from the collections.
