Toni Maticevski is not one to follow fashion rules. His standout collections are punctuated with luxe fabrications, delicate embellishments and strong silhouettes, perfect for the modern woman. His current Autumn/Winter collection is no exception. Maticevski takes inspiration from an unexpected combination of the Twilight movies and the work of art photographer Bill Henson to create a polished range with a dark twist.
Bold shoulders, nipped in waists with gothic, claw like embellished details to accentuate the hips, shows that Maticevski knows how to flatter any woman’s figure.
Based on a delicious palette of white, black, pastel blue, dusty mauve and cream, Maticevski’s collection presents a beautiful mix of classically tailored skirts and tops, which transitions smoothly into shimmering bustier tops, beautiful, perforated leather accents, and reaches an outstanding finale with two statement gowns. The Capture Beaded Evening Gown, a stunning fitted white long sleeved creation with dramatic beaded hip detail, and the Half Light Gown, a beautiful mix of frothy white detailing on a bold, full skirt with a fitted bodice, are the perfect representation of Maticevski’s vision for this collection, namely how beautiful, delicate things can be broken and re-configured in ways that bring a sense of past and future together.
