Screen Sect presents: Dazed and Confused
Start the week by mellowing out to a Monday movie sesh. This time leave behind mainstream cinemas, leave behind the independent, and join a film society. Each week the Screen Sect society adds to your film education by presenting a classic of the screen. This week it’s 90s ‘Dazed and Confused’, involving a group of teens, Matthew McConaughey, and high school escapades.

Circus Oz Bong the Bells
Deep in the centre of Melbourne, there lives a forest of bells. Thirty nine brass trees rise from the ground, light up at night and play their music for everyone to hear. This event teams the beauty of the bells with acrobats from Circus Oz, who will use these Melbourne icons to create and perform their very own form of music. Stand by and let the unique sounds play you through the twilight.

WEDNESDAY JUNE 12TH
Pizza Festival at Ladro
In the month of June, Melbourne celebrates the Pizza Festival. Over four weeks, thirteen top pizzerias will present their cheesy, crusty, or maybe soft crusty, specialties. It’s a search for authenticity and taste. On Wednesday, Ladro showcases its famous Romana pizza with tomato, mozzarella, anchovies, oregano and oil. Sit down and appreciate the simple ingredients transformed into an extravagant meal.

Joyous World: It’s good that you’re here – Venerable Dao Pu
In this Buddhist inspired display, gentle forms and colours offer a quiet message of peace to the audience. Give spirituality a moment out of your week and watch tranquility take the form of art.

Drinks at Shebeen
It’s a Friday night: time to talk about your first world problems while drinking a cocktail named after them. A non-for-profit bar where all the cash earned gets sent right back into structures to help the developing world. Just think, each drink is a donation. Grab a friend, order a few Mexican and Vietnamese themed nibbles and kick back to a night of fighting the good fight.

SATURDAY 15TH JUNE
Anh Do: The Happiest Refugee Live
This man won the grand prize on Celebrity ‘Deal or No Deal’, but Anh Do is much more than one grand achievement. Here he presents his amazing stand up show, drawing heavily from his own poignant past. Hilarity mixed with emotion means you’ll walk out with a smile as big as his.

SUNDAY 16TH JUNE
North Melbourne Market
Who knows what awaits when you pass the big doors to wander amongst the 50 stalls. Take the time to move through the pack and discover the wonders at your own pace. This guarantees that any item you find will be as unique and special as you always dreamed a market would be.
