It’s an old favourite and cult classic. If you haven’t already discovered NARS Bronzing Powder ($55), it’s going to quickly become a makeup kit essential!

The diffused powder gives an all-over warmth and contours the entire face with a golden shimmer. Applying this bronzer creates a natural sun-kissed glow that is sure to improve the appearance of your complexion. NARS Bronzing powder fills in lines and pores to create smoother looking skin and is ideal for all skin types.

What makes this product different from the multitude of bronzers on the market is the lightness of the powder, which allows you to build up its intensity. Thus, it’s quite difficult to be left with that dreaded orange look, and will instead appear to have a healthy and natural summer glow.

NARS creator, François Nars says, “Bronzing Powder makes the skin look healthy and glowing. I was very precise with the amount of shimmer – I wanted to create an effect that made you look radiant and natural.”

The bronzing powder comes in three shades: Casino (dark brown with golden shimmer), Irresistiblement (golden terracotta) and Laguna (brown with golden shimmer). The Laguna shade is universally complimenting and the fan favourite.

James Boehmer, Director of Global Artistry at NARS, says, “bronzer shouldn’t be used all over the face; just apply it to the areas that would be hit by the sun: the forehead, bridge of nose, tops of cheeks, and chin.” Boehmer recommends to “take what’s left on the brush and blend onto the neck and décolleté so there is no line of demarcation. Bronzer should be translucent.”

In terms of finding the perfect brush to apply the powder, Boehmer reveals “denser, shorter hairs will pick up more pigment than looser, longer hairs. If you’re heavy-handed with bronzer, try using the NARS Loose Powder Brush or Blush Brush to apply”.
